Founder of Mónica Diago Arquitectura, a studio specialising since 2011 in the full renovation and interior design of homes in Madrid.
With more than 200 renovations behind her, Mónica Diago holds a level of experience that is rare in the sector. A career built on all kinds of projects that is today her greatest asset: the ability to anticipate every decision and to resolve, with judgement, what distinguishes a good project from an exceptional one.
For more than fifteen years she has accompanied hundreds of clients in transforming their homes, developing projects where architecture, interior design and bespoke design are conceived as a single process. Her work is characterised by personalised attention, care for every detail and the search for solutions that improve the way of life of those who inhabit each space.
Every project begins by listening. Understanding how each family lives, anticipating their needs and designing a home that responds to them is the starting point of the whole process. From there, layout, light, materials, furniture and craftsmanship come together naturally to create timeless, functional and deeply personal homes.
Convinced that good architecture transcends trends, she takes on a limited number of projects each year in order to give each one the time, involvement and level of detail it requires. Because the best homes are not the ones that draw the most attention, but those in which everything seems to be exactly where it should be.
Her work has been published in specialist media such as Interiores, Nuevo Estilo, Arquitectura y Diseño and Expansión, and is complemented by Diago Home, the furniture brand designed by the studio, and Lumier, a developer specialising in the renovation of singular homes.
